Hey girls, had a second root canal on Thursday and I just have to tell you they're really not that bad. I know I heard all the horror stories like everybody else but they're not bad. And no, I don't have a thing for pain! I didn't feel a thing during the procedure either time, just pretty tender the next day. But nothing an OTC med can't take care of. :)

There must be varying grades of it or my dentist is a quack of something cause the root canal I had hurt like a mutha! I felt alot during the procedure... almost died when they banged in the needles or metal rods. I can take some serious pain.... but not in a tender area like the mouth.

No way! One shot of novacaine and I didn't feel a thing. Honest. The worst part is the sound, you can hear everything. I have a high tolerance for pain, but I agree with you, not in the mouth. The first one I had was painless too. That had an extra canal my dentist didn't see so I ended up at the endodontist a year later, but that was painless too. I think you need to see my dentist! He's in White Bear Lake.

My dentist is pretty awesome too. He knows that I am an absolute baby when it comes to pain. A shot of novacaine and a walkman and then he goes to work. I find he get a little irritated with me when I try to sing to the music.:pickle:
