Group Purchase...Beltronics 960 OR 985

Trying to get a group purchase together on either a Beltronics 985 or 960 (your choice).

The sales manager at a local electronics place doesn't mind working with you for volume, and here is what he said...

You can choose from either the 960 or the 985 and 10 and below he'll give us 17% off the current sale prices...if we get more than 10 he'll increase the discount (so far I have 4).

V960 = $224 X 1.17 = $185.92
V985 = $269 X 1.17 = $223.27

I'm getting a V960 because the extra features in the V985 are not worth the extra $$ IMHO...but some of you may want the extra doo-dads.

I did a quick online search to see if the prices are indeed good...the best 985 I found was $245.97 plus shipping...the best 960 was $199 plus shipping.

Since it's tax return time...I thought this would be a good time to bring this topic up.

Escort Solo radar detector. They are cordless run on battery. The Solo is a basic unit and very good. This unit is in my '93 Cobra just above the reaview mirror. I have a Escort Solo 2 in my daily shooter and this unit can track over 4 radar signals at a time and tell you which type of signal it is - it can track several different styles of radars at one time and tell - X, K, Ka, Laser.

The best part NO CORDS.

Yep...Escort makes a great unit too...BEL and Escort are actually the same company! (BEL you can swing deals on though)
