Hello
I just learned something today! Which way should you dyno a 2007 Mustang GT automatic in 3rd gear or 4th gear?
I got 263.8 rwhp from a 3rd gear dyno! I was told to do the dyno pulls in 4th because of the 4th gear lock.
I felt a little bad about my resuilts but I do know I had 240 Rwhp because of the 20% driveline loss so I thought my Longtubes gave me 23.6 rwhp and the custom tune and cai gave me nothing.

4th is a 1-1 ratio, and should have been used.

Like Grenade said, they should be done in the 1:1 gear which is 4th.

I e-mail the Dyno place and ask him to do the dyno again this time in 4th gear

May be I'll get better rwhp?
I can only hope!!!!

your torque number should go down though doing it in 4th since it is a 1:1 ratio.

Nopers.

Torque #s actualy increase when dyno'd in the correct 1:1 ratio, rather than when using a low ratio gear.

Only time HP or TQ goes down in the higher gear is if because of power, or axle ratio, the car doesnt have enough power to pull through the gear (IE, a stock 2.73 geared 5.0L mustang will dyno higher in 2nd gear than in 3rd ).
