Your first Mustang

Mine was a 1982 Mustang L sedan 2.3 4cyl 4-spd 88hp. Doubt it was that much. Bought it Oct of 87. I was 19. But instead of trying to make it run 16's, I traded up to a Mustang 6cyl. then to an 8cyl. I do not believe in building up weak cars, just save and trade it up to what you really want.

Funny thing is I almost got a ticket for unreasonable acceleration. It was a small town and the officer knew my family.

Mods - sidepipes and 60 series tires on back. 8track, and a CB with a PA speaker under the hood.

1966 Fastback, originally an Ivy Green A code motor with an automatic....When I got it, it had a 300+ 289, Borg Warner aluminum t-10 4 speed, 350 9 bolt in Ivy Metallic Green with Black interior. We had 1 rule when driving it.... no one passed you...

1970 notch, 351 with all the goodies, professionally built C6, 9 inch with 5.14 gears...yes, it would pull the front end off!

1986 GT. White and black 2-tone, with the black accent on the hood. Grey interior with red piping on the seats. 5-speed, 3.73s, exhaust, timing, free mods.

I had some American Racing chrome Hammer wheels on it, but then I got some silver ponies. Had M/T Sportsman Pros on it; I even drove in the winter with them. Durrrrrrr.

I loved that car.

First- 1977 Mustang II Mach 1- Original V-6 I think somehwere around 90 HP
Second- Still the 1977 Mach 1, Got a 77 302 Truck motor, with 230K + miles on it(think it may have been 250K) Didnt rebuild it. Just dropped it in. It had around 112 RWHP. Ran a 16.5@82!
3rd-1986 GT. Stock. Ran a best of 15.2 @ 91 with alot of wheel spin through 1st, 2nd and part of 3rd.
4th- Back to the 77. New Motor yet again. 93 Cobra Motor, Soon to have a C4 over the C6 we blew up in one of the initial test drives. Has been converted to carb. Should put down around 235 RWHP maybe more. Should run a low 13.(weight with me is around 2850)

Yes, that was Mustang Numero Dos.

After that, 1988 GT (dark grey with silver), 1987 AOD notch (dark red), 1999 GT (Rio red), 2001 GT (zinc yellow time bomb), 2004 GT (sonic blue), 1990 notch (bright red). Wifey still has the silver '99 GT she bought a couple years ago.

No, I'm a car guy who has owned several Mustangs and a Lightning.

I do like Mustangs though. My friend Tim got me into them when I was 15 or so. He got his first one, a black smashed up '87 GT with no passenger door, when we were 15. We would drive it around the block, me sitting in the back seat because there wasn't a front passenger seat in it. It felt really fast back then.

Then he got his strawberry LX hatch and put a Cartech turbo kit on it, and I was in love. I couldn't believe how fast that was. He still has that same kit on a strawberry '90 GT, along with two bimini blue notches, one with a PTK turbo kit on it.

I also like Vettes, mainly because my dad had a '67 convertible when I was a kid. That's still my all-time favorite car. He passed away in '03 and we contacted the current owner of his old car and he wasn't selling it. Oh well.

Anyway, sorry for the long story. :violin:

My first mustang has been my only mustang. Got it in 2002 during my last semester in high school.

Someday i think ill buy another one, but even though this thing has put me though alot of pain trying to work on it, i doubt ill let it go unless combustion engines become illegal in the future or something.
