Ok to make a long story short back when my car was in the shop one of the holdups was the fenders. I ordered a set and it came broken and I was refunded my money when I sent the fenders back. I ordered another set from a different company and it also came broken so I decided to just order another set right away after the vendor promised me he would check the set he was going to send for defects. So in the mean time I waited to have my money refunded for the broken set. Check this email correspondence out:

I sent an email a while ago about progess on receiving money back:

At 01:06 PM 8/4/2004
Please refund my credit card ASAP the case has been closed. No
matter the outcome you have the fenders back so you should
credit my card back ASAP with the $199.
Thanks,
Chris

His reply:

Chris:
I am willing to work with you, however under company policy, We have to wait for FedEx to settle the claim with us before we can issue any credits to your acct. You as a customer decided to order a second set while waiting for the claim to be settled. The fenders in which were damaged are still being handled by FedEx.
Until the claim is settled, we are both at a loss. We will credit our card as soon as the claim is resolved. At this time FedEx has not contacted us in regards to closing the case

Thanks
James

I call FedEx and verify that the case is closed that same day so I find out vendor is lying and email again:

At 01:27 PM 8/4/2004
BS! Dude I just called FedEX the claim was paid for $242 to you.
It is closed so refund my money and stop fooling around.

Thanks,
Chris

His response:

At 01:34 PM 8/4/2004
Chris:
Ok as soon as the check or claim papers are sent, the
refund will be issued. You must understand claims don't arrive
overnight. We are not here to hold your money, you should already know that.
Thanks

I email again after a week:

At 08:04 AM 8/11/2004
I'm assuming the check made it there. Its been over a week and Fedex packages make it in 2-4 days. Don't make me call and track the check now. Send money please.

Thanks,
Chris

His reply:

Chris:
I have no idea WHO you think you are and what your threats are supposed to mean but honestly, they mean absolutely nothing to me. FedEx packages make it in 2-4 days, however the Postal Service is the company who delivers mail. Money will be refunded by accounting today since the check arrived yesterday.

Have a Nice Day

James

What a bunch of crap. Why should any customer have to deal with this crap. This is just my dealings with him in the last week or so its been going on like this since the beginning of June when I first ordered the fenders. Who do I think I am?! I'm your fricken customer now give my money! He has the damaged fenders which he will just patch and send out to another customer and he has a $242 check from FedEx. I don't have anything of his and he still resists. Shouldn't I get my money back instantly if a product is defective and it isn't my doing? I'll be more than surprised if I receive any money this week. What ever happened to keeping the customer happy. I'll never shop there again and neither will any person I ever talk to.

Ok all done.

Why is it that you have the absolute WORST luck with anything to do with cars? I mean in the time I've known you, your Coog has been in the shop longer than you've been driving it, the Jag has been untitled longer than titled, etc.

WTF dude!

Dan

I don't know if something can go wrong it will. I seem to find every loop hole there is so that I get screwed on everything. I'm just going to go curl up in the corner and hide from now on or just buy a really big gun.

Chris, that is a bunch of crap. Since you paid by credit card they could have credited your account as soon as they heard the claim was settled with Fed Ex. What a load of crap and that customer service person should be reported, like that would do any good though. What company is this so we all know to avoid them?

I learned in a management class that a happy customer will tell three friends of good service. An unhappy customer will tell ten friends about a bad experience. Obviously this gentleman wasn't aware of just how many friends a person in a car club can inform with just one e-mail! It's your civic duty to disclose the name of this company so that the rest of us don't have to ever deal with this kind of horrible customer service!

And James ... what goes around comes around! :slap:

Chris I have to agree with James on this one - who do you think you are????...OH YEA That's right, You are the paying CUSTOMER, the reason they are in business!
I bet he has a conversation with his employees that goes something like this...

Customer Service rep "Hey boss should I send Chris his money?"

James - "No way, I don't like that guy, he expects everything to be perfect...If it wasn't for the F-ing customers, this would be a great business".

Sorry for the rant, but I am in the customer service business and would lose my mind (ask any of the 50+ guys that work for me) if I found out we were treating a customer this way.

Chryse, I read the same book but that was a longtime ago. (First Yr College 1990 :( )

Chris, I actually saw this in the paper or on the news a few days ago. The consumer is not responsible for the product until it is in his hands, shipping solely lies on the seller. IMO you best bet is to call your credit card company, explain the situation and dispute the charge. They usually will credit card company will immediatly remove the charge and not charge intrest until the dispute is settled.

BTW- Now that I think about it I remember that from my law studies, People Court.

James is the owner of the company! I've known him somewhat even before he started it. His parents are rich and gave him a ton of money to invest. He started spending money on his cougar and I think he began to run out so he started up a store to make money and help support his cougar spending. He has spent well over $100,000 on his cougar as far as I know.

He has always been an ass though, I met him at a cougar get together in TN and wasn't impressed. I've ordered from him before and things seem to run smoothly and he keeps his prices below others so thats why he gets customers.

YEAH I finally got a refund for the fenders.

Leftover BS that I still need to deal with:

-Jaguar bonded title (still no form in the mail needed to apply for bonded title )
-Body ship is still dealing with rim company on getting me a new rim (vendor sold us a 17" rim in an 18" box and wouldn't take it back)
