I am writing this because I have seen some things lately on other sites that are written about me, the dealership, members and the club. Mentioned are things like 1)me being pissed about people not buying cars from me or the dealership 2) People thinking/saying the club will fail. 3) Not enough events. 4) Sponsorship of the club. 5) "The Vote."
1) I don't get "pissed" off when people buy cars from other dealerships. I just like to get the same exact opportunity the other dealers get. If I say I want to see a trade...it means I want to see a trade before I put a value on it. I have never sold a car completely over the phone. I want a deal to be done by itself and not mixed in with other things going on, it's too distracting. If someone says they will come back, I expect them to come back. If someone is dealing with one type of car and then buy something different somewhere else, well that is not the same deal to me and it shouldn't be used as a gauge of how the deal went. I just hope that whomever they choose to buy a car from is someone that cares about them and the car they buy. There are few people that I believe I/we went to bat for regarding getting their vehicle serviced. (a-hem) And those people bought a car from me. I hear all of the time that their salesperson no longer works at the dealership they bought it from. If I have ever done someone wrong, I want to know about it. I am a big boy and will admit fault. Well I hope you get the point. PM me if you don't.
2) I hope there aren't that people don't want this club to be a success. Plain and simple. If there are, it is because someone said this or that or did this or that to someone else. I see that at my house between my 7 and 3 year olds every day. This is a club about something we all believe in, SVT vehicles! The highest re-sale american cars on the road. This club will grow as fast as it members can recruit new ones. If we don't recruit new ones it will obviously fail. This has to be a group effort. I tell every new SVT owner about the club and supply them with site addresses etc. I can supply more sponsorship the bigger the club grows and the more I can show we are doing. If you have a problem with something, I can be called at 952-484-8767. I'm in!!
3) Events will come with growth. we have basically 6 months do to things outside. It is hard to schedule everyone at the same time. I haven't heard much of anyone agreeing on one place where a track event should be. Plus not many seem to commit how much $$$ they would pay for it. The club will grow as long as we all stay on course. (pun intended)
4) Like I said before, sponsorship will grow with the club. If I remember correctly, SVTOA contacted me about starting a chapter. I was the last dealer they called. Every other dealership turned it down. I then contacted Brian as well as a rep from SVTOA. I might have that timeline wrong but I do know that the other 3 turned them down. (Brian?) I was willing to sponsor the SVTOAMN site but was never given the information needed to get it approved and paid for. The "Bloomington" is something I am trying to switch because I hate it. I think Minnesota or Twin Cities is much better. Someone at SVTOA made a boo-boo when getting it set up for the magazine. If I can be more confident when trying for more funding it will be easier. I told Brian when it all started that I couldn't put tons of time into it because of everything else I have going on around here and I live 42 miles from work. I have contributed a lot of stuff from my SVT collection and will give more. I need to know what it is for though. I will allow anything we can come up with at the show in June. I will even allow any kind of raffle(s). Just get me the info I need to get the $$$. It is all I ask. 0 + 0 = 0. I hope you get the point.
5) "The Vote" I will come out and say that I voted for Brian and John. It was only because I knew them much better and I know Brian has been involved with planning of past events. I know John and how passionate he is about his truck. So that was my determination that they were a more comfortable choice. I am sure that the Dans do a great job. They should be supported in every way possible. I may not act the quickest but it will get done.
I am here to help out in every way I can. You all know where I am and some of you know what I can get done. You just have to give me and the club a fighting chance. Your differences either need to be brought out or lock them away. I will tell you that I will remain nuetral on most things unless I think a decision needs to be made. Then I will give my opinion. I think fighting or grudges are useless. Keep up the good work!!
BTW...amerispeed.com is mainly a site that I use for pictures for ebay etc. Travis and I toyed with a forum on there. It is ok to post there but I rarely go to it. It is a freebie from our provider. I would say it has about 140 more posts than I would have ever thought.
Did I forget anything?
