Hello - I purchased an Accufab TB and Plenum. The plenum was painted rattle-can black. I took ALL the paint off yesterday.

I need some advice on where I can get the plenum either polished or powdercoated? Can anyone give me a ballpark cost?

Thanks!
Warren L.

Dan N can tell you the name of the place up in Blaine (sorry can't remember) that powdercoats. My PFab tank ran $15, so I'm guessing around there.

i would not Powder coat it if i were you it will hold alot more heat in then if you polish it.and also all of your bolt holes, and or sensor holes will be filled with powder coat which is a bitch to get off.

You can polish it your self with a dremel tool and some buffing compound, or i belive that Mothers sells a aluminum polishing kit.

If you dont get anything else powdercoated then polishing would look the best. If you get it powder coated just look for a reputable place and they wont get it in the threads or bolt holes. There are lots of places out I know of 1 in zimmerman and 1 in Isanti.
My vote would be polished though.

The place in Blaine is call Best Coat. They are right off of Hwy 65 and I think 99th.

Powder Coating will not fill your bolt holes or anything like that cause they block all those areas off.

The question you have to answer though is What color scheme are you going for in the engine bay? Is your blower getting painted/powder coated or is it getting polished or is it staying stock? I would match the Plenum to the color of the blower or it will look strange.

Agreed. Any reputable shop is going to mask any threaded holes, and should also ask you if there is anything else you DO NOT want coated. Also be sure to remove anything that is not "heat resistant" as part of the powder-coating process is to bake that baby in an oven to flow the powder.

I never really thought about doing the plenum, but I suppose if matched up properly it could look pretty nice.
