Who makes a decent set of gears? I have bought gears before so I have no idea as to what brand to look for. Any suggestions? Nitto drag tires is what im goin with on the rear.

Ford or Ford Racing Performance Parts. AV Ford has them pretty cheap. Nitto's don't stand a chance against 410's on a Terminator! :shiftin:

Wow... Jordan, you are really going a different direction than the majority.. I'm not sure 4.10's are a good thing on an '03...

I would personally mod the rest of the car before touching the gear ratio... 1st is already worthless, why would you want to lose 1st and 2nd?!

Unless your a die hard drag racer and thats where the car sees most of its use I think your wasting your time with 4:10's also and as Kafn8td said Nitto's wont stand a chance.

why would i lose 1st & 2nd gear? I always do stuff different than the majority, I like to be unique!

why would i lose 1st & 2nd gear? I always do stuff different than the majority, I like to be unique! You wont lose them but you wont be able to jump on the gas pedal without spinning the nittos off. I assume your doing this to get a better take off but if it makes it so your nittos cant grab whats the point?

Most of the guys that run 4:10's are also running 28" slicks to get traction.

I TEST DORVE AN OF W/ PULLEY exhaust and program, and 4.10's

what a scary ride, no traction out of the hole unless you left in second and babbied it out of the hole.....

hmmmmmmmmm........nitto makes a nice drag tire according to consumer reports. I mean obviously hoosiers are the best, I just think they look wierd.

hmmmmmmmmm........nitto makes a nice drag tire according to consumer reports. I mean obviously hoosiers are the best, I just think they look wierd. No one here is saying Nitto makes a bad drag tire. The fact of the matter is the nitto is probably the best drag radial for street use followed closely by the BFG. They simply have a harder compound that some of the stickier drag radials like the MT's or the hoosiers.

All we are trying to tell you is that even with a drag radial the 4:10's will make you traction challenged.

Simply put you need to decide what your goals are, why do you want to add 4:10's? What do you hope to accomplish?

As I eluded to above, a cobra with a positive displacement blower makes gobs of low end TQ so the 4:10's that are a common mod on the N/A cars just isnt needed and can actually be detrimental to traction. So, if your looking at 4:10's to get you out of the hole faster and your not willing to go with a real sticky drag radial then your putting 4:10's on is counterproductive.

Also keep in mind putting sticky tires on and launching hard will take its toll on your half shafts and the wimpy 10 spline input shaft.

I can spin my 315 nittos right now and I have the stock 3.55 gears. I could not imagine having 4.10's and trying to drive it.

DO NOT DO THAT.... I have 4.10's in my 01 and I can't plant with 275 nittos. I cant use 1st at all unless I am racing not to mention the gas mileage you will lose. 1st 2nd will be completely useless on the street becuase you will spin like crazy. DO NOT GET 4.10s

410's on a modded Cobra, may limit your 1/4 mile per hr. You may start pushing the powerband in 4th gear at the line. Maybe 390's with some taller race tires for the track. But overall the 3:55's Are a great gear for a blower car. $ could be better spent on hp. Listen to the Cobra Guys, they know.

410's and drag radials are nice for a N/A car.
