Ideas for Events next year, gimme input.

Im looking for Ideas for events next year. I would like to have a tenative schedule by next months meeting. This is a chance for you the members to let us know what you want. Please keep it plain and keep it simple, no post whoring because I Will delete your entire post.

Here is what I have so far:

Jan- ??????
Feb- ??????
March- Dynoday where we will recieve discounted rates on dyno pulls.
April- Spring Cruise
May- MAM Event Council Bluffs Iowa
May- Drag Day at Rock Falls
May- SVT Vs Car Vette club Cedar Falls
June- American Ford Car Show/Auto Cross/Detail Workshop
July- ????????
July- SVTOA Regional Event Road America
August- Mods & Rods III ?
August- Domestic Shootout Cedar Falls IA
Sept -Auto Cross Gingerman South Haven MI
Sept- Fall Cruise, Gimme Ideas where ?
Oct- ?????
Nov- Nominations for Annual Elections
Dec- Christmas Party

Folks these are ideas I have, if you know of something list it with the date and we will list it. After we have a list, Im either going to ask people to give a show of hands on if you would be willing to try to go to event or not.

Travel to Texas with John trip?

The Black Hills idea's a good one. I'd say talk to a few other svt chapters within driving distance and get them to go too. Similar to what the biker "sturgis" rally is and the Corvette "Black Hills Classic" is every year.

Jan/Feb - Silicon Valley NASCAR races, get a group together and race each other on a simulated track.

Snowmobile Trip - GREAT, go up north to the Ash River Trail resorts, can snowmobile for hours/days. Kettle Falls, Crane Lake, I Falls, Canada, etc. 2001 Polaris XC 600 Edge X (mine), 2000 XC 500 (wife's)

oh just thought of a few more which i think have been done already like a road trip to the naias in detriot or a trip to our own auto show in mar, or apr i can't remeber. We should also consider a group picnic supported by the club with club money's to give back to the members, fall spring summer it don't matter. be cool dc

How about a couple dyno days, maybe one later in the year, if possible. My car wasn't out until mid April this year. And I like the idea of a picnic or cook out, maybe put a cruise in front of it. And Dan N., I'm already thinking of what my hotrod's costume could be!

How about any group visits to the MN Zoo or Valley Fair?? Not sure if they'd give us discounts but maybe a some free advertising for SVTOA-TC?? Just a thought.

The zoo or Valley Fair trips would be nice for those with families too. Since this is a family club, it might be nice to do atleast one event a year that is kid friendly, and the whole family would be invited.

I was informed last weekend at the SVTOA ontrack event that they are pretty sure there will be a Road course svtoa ontrack event at the new track being built in Joliet Il. next year. I will keep you posted as info gets released. I think we should pencil this in, it sounds like alot of fun.

PS: If you remind me at the Gingerman event in Sept, the guy that is leading this up will be there and we can ask him more about it.

To others: I like the idea of a fall or summer cruise to South Dakota. As far as snowmobiling goes, Im not sure if thats going to fly because only a few members have sleds. I have wrote all these things down and we will work out the details at the next meeting.
