Now I am sure this is a topic that has been beaten to death. I am however going to plead ignorance and ask anyway.
How can the dash warping be fixed without paying for a completely new dash? Does anyone around here have experience with fixing it? My dash covering has completely come away from the dash near the windshield. There isn't too much of a problem with waves as of yet, but I am so picky that I want to get it taken care of. In fact, I am the type of guy that wants to get rid of something if it has a dent or scratch or imperfection. I really love my car but I do not like to have "little nagging visual blems" that can't easily be addressed.
Thanks, Mike

I feel you mike, I hate stuff like that also and "WILL" get rid of the car to make the problem go away! But in all honesty I have no clue other than to tell you to go to a renewer specialist and see what they say that they can do for the dash.. You would be surprised to find out that someone can do this stuff for not all that much money..

When i had my contour... The part of the dash that was warping, was the plastic piece, near the windsheild. More else where the air would come out of it.. That piece was warping.
All they do, if pop the old one off, place the new vent piece in it's place, and re-pop rivit it back in. Took all but 25min for the whole swap out.

The dash in my Contour was warped when I got it and Chris did a great job fixing it. Not sure what he used but I'm sure he'll tell you if you ask him.

hehehehe I used some strong ass glue and some water bottles to hold it down while it dried. Worked like a charm. A new dash is really expensive and they were on back order. I used gorrilla glue. It's hard to get in there though. I used a piece of tubing and carefully slid it under the warped part and put glue on both surfaces. Don't get it on the windshield or top of the dash. Tape it all off with masking tape if you are worried. Use clear packaging tape on the windshield so you can see what you are doing from the outside. Use water bottles or spray bottles to hold it down while it dries. I used lots of bottles. Hopefully that helps.

If I remember correctly there is a TSB out for dash warping on Contours. My techs had to glue several of them a few years ago.

Yup there was. I'm not sure if that would cover the car if it was way out of warrenty though.
