So, I've been lookin around for a while and I want to try an find some gas stations in the area that sell 93 octane gas, everything around me, at least so far in rosemount and apple valley has only 92 or some even try to sell 91 as premium, I dunno if 1 extra point makes any difference but I want it just to have the higher octane, I'm not gunna do some stupid octane booster cause I don't need to but I'd feel better running the highest normal octane I can get in the car. Where do you guys go? I've been lookin around and until I find 93 I think I'll just stick with s.a. and their 92

I run 92 if I can't find 93 in all my cars, no problems so far.

That extra point is gonna make no diff. Holiday has 93 also. Look at people in CA who have 91 being their highest grade, they survive without booster.
The BP by my house in Farmington has 93. They use to be a Mobile. It is right off of Pilot Knob about 2 miles south of Rosemount / Apple Valley.

Heh... That's by 2 of my ex's houses. One lives off Pilot Knob in Eagan and the other in Farmington.

cool, by no means was I hinting that I need to have 93 or think that I do. I just would like to get it if it is convenient to get ahold of. At least I've got an idea for a few more stations to check out. Good enough, thanks guys

The Mobil on Pilot Knob in Farmington sells 93 Octane, the bad thing about Holiday is its oxygenated gas and that will cause detonation just as fast as 91 or 92.
I normally use SA all the time and have never had a hint of detonation.

Doesn't matter if you goto SA or Holiday. Both get their gas from the Coke plant. It's the same gas.

Then why is 1 rated a lower octane than the other ? Plants produce different blends and the gas you get at SA isnt the same as Holiday, or else they would both be rated at 93 Octane.

Each "brand" uses different formulas and additives. Made at the same plant yes...same gas no.

It's all how they label it I guess. I've been to the Coke plant before and seen SA and Holiday trucks both filling from the same station.

BTW- Guys in Cali also make less power and run slower than the other lower 47 states because the Cali gas doesnt let you run as much timing as other state blends.

Except you can get VP or any of the other race fuels at one of a million speed shops.

Kath Brothers petroleum on rice street, just a little south of the 694 exit has 112 octane for sale. bring a gas can because they wont let you pump it directly into your vehicle unless the vehicle is trailored. when i got it for the focus it was just under $5 a gallon, so it cost me about $55 to fill it up.
DAMN what a difference it makes though

The Colony on Washington sells race gas also as do many other places around town including the Citgo in Plymouth on Rockford Rd (aka Cty Rd 9 aka 42nd) and Nathan Ln. Just watch out, lots of places have 110 octane but it's leaded. Most just have 105 in unleaded.

There is some station on Rice Street, that has 107 octane if im not mistaken. Not sure what the name of it is, but from what i've been told, it's new some A&W rootbeer shop.
