Hi, I have been thinking over this for a while but I figure its good to post it and get a few opinions from people. I have been trying to read as much as I can and not say anything just to kinda figure things out my self but as to a cat-back exhaust most stock systems are a pretty decent restriction. Most cars can make use of an aftermarket exhaust system and I would hope my 98 cobra is no different. Here is what I'm looking at the ford racing catback exhaust system for it lists most mustangs but what confuses me is how it doesn't show 98, wierd it should be the same right, is there some difference within the same exact body style that I do not know of?

A low cost performance exhaust system for your 1986-93 5.0L LX, 1994-95 5.0L, 1996-97 4.6L GT and 1996-97 Cobra. This exhaust system is made from primarilly 2.5'' diameter tubing with high performance mellow tone mufflers, and terminate with 3.0'' polished tips. A great performing low cost system.

Anyway this is the system I think I want to go with. I want a better performing and flowing exhaust system the may sound a little bit louder but I do not want a "loud" system. Most normal aftermarket systems fit under the catagory of loud and I'm not overly interested in something like that even though I'm sure it sounds good, I've had loud cars in the past, this one is normal and sounds good, I don't want another one that is a nuisance, plus the less attention I can draw from our good friends with light bars the better, I don't wanna draw attention by making enough noise that I seem obnoxious just cruising around, another reason I want the ford racing system is that most people don't have it and it is relatively inexpensive. People say that it is pretty quiet too thats all I ask. I also have a bbk h-pipe with cats that I plan to be installing right around the same time and I don't want to put a nice mid pipe on just to choke it off with the stock catback. On this site called gef racing I found it for 265 but I would have to pay shipping I think and it may equal out to what I would pay at apple valley ford, they said it would be like 295 or basically 300 somethin like that. Are there any other local places I could get it cheaper? Let me know you're opinions and we can go from there I guess

Haven't heard that particular exhaust, but with the H, should give it a nice old skool V8 rumble. I just ordered the Magnaflows, and still trying to decide on the H or an X. I might run it a while with the stock H in. Let me know when you are gonna do it and I'll lend a hand.
