View Full Version : So long, thanks for the fun

Well folks so long and thanks for the fun, (at least the times I was able to make it).

I traded in the Focus today, and took delivery of a 2004 Jeep Wrangler Columbia Edition.

I will recomend this to anyone who wants to have a SVT vehicle as a daily driver,..... DO NOT DO IT!!!.

It was soooo hard to keep that damn car looking like it should, everytime I noticed a chip in the paint or ANYTHING like that I tried to get it fixed right away, so that the vehicle would represent the SVT status.

Well that wasnt to fiscally responsible. Turns out I have spent AT LEAST 5k getting that thing looking pretty, and thats ALL out of pocket expenses.

Keep it REAL and Keep it happening, and I tell you what, if I get the chance I will show up to the next meeting so you all can take a peek at it.

I will keep in touch on the message boards for awhile yet, but not sure what the hell else to do, not like a jeep would look right cruising down the road with all of you.

well like I said, thanks for the fun.

Wow, Congrats on whatever you choose Twitch. The Jeep will work better in winter but it will never sound like the Foci did when bouncing off the rev limiter

Oh wow Twitch, good luck with the Jeep! Even though I've not met you yet I feel a bit sad about the Focus, but sounds like you'll be very happy with your new Jeep! Have fun with it!

Twitch, guess the Wrangler eats little yellow pills?

Hey, show up to the meetings and show up to the cruises. It's the people that make this club, NOT completely the vehicles.

Geez - we let Doug stick around!!!

Don't be a stranger. Please stay on the site and show up if/when you can!

I nominate Twitch to stay in with the group.

The only concern is that why a Jeep and not a Ford Escape?? As being a Ford dealer I have to question his purchase.

You sure about that? Don't believe they make a "Columbia" edition.

And how did you spend $5k keeping the car clean?:scram:

My vette hasn't seen more than $100 in cleaning products so far.:drink:

Weird, it wasn't listed under the "build your own jeep" section.

And you do realize Jeeps are supposed to be dirty right?;)

I have to agree with John Greg. You're oil in the intake problem really isn't a problem, unless you think every turbo/blown motor has the same problem. (even some N/A motors will get some up in there.)

And along those lines, there isn't a car manufacturer on the planet, or in fact anything human made, that doesn't have some kind of weak spot/design flaw etc... We're all human, and none of us are perfect. (except Jason, he's a shaved Sasquatch trying to adjust to urban life:grin: )

in straight line, yes. On a road course, I would not agree. ;);)
