hey I wanted to get a short shifter from Steeda but I dont know how to install it. I was wondering if anyone knew how difficult it is on a 01 cobra, or better yet if anyone would be interested in helping to install one with me

Its a very simple mod, buy the shifter and we will do it in the parking lot at the next meeting. I have all the hand tools required in the truck.

Really one of the guys in town told me that I would have to drop down the tranny and all kinds of stuff he said that it was a pain in the ass

Shifters are a piece of cake. John's right, we can do it in the parking lot.
Need 10mm and 13mm sockets, 1/2 sockets. I recommend buying a gasket kit to keep the noise out and then you also don't need the silicone!
I've put them in a few cars now, no need to drop the tranny!!!
