Not sure about the quarter mile but stop light to stop light the CSVT is faster.
Silver sure looks the best color. I wanted Black as a baby brother to the MM but the Silver was just too nice a car to turn down.
Pics will be along tomorrow when I have time to wash it and take some. Watch this space...

It's not to hard really. I found mine for $600 down in North Carolina. People are scared of work and with a lot of these cars having blown motors... repair costs for someone to do it for you are in the upper $2k region. Everything said and done my CSVT cost me about $4200. However thats counting transaxle upgrades (Torsen, forks, focus shift tower) and paying $1375 for a CSVT motor out of Michigan w/42k on it. I should have just done a 3L swap from the get go. It would have been a helluva lot cheaper and more powerful.

You'll almost never find one for cheaper than $1000-1500 unless the owner really needs to get rid of it or it has really high miles on the body.

i think paying 1000 for a blown motor csvt would be a nice deal, i'd love to get another for my 3l swap and keep mine for daily....
and hey blackcoog do you know anything about MSD ignitions? i picked up a DIS-4 control module and want to wire it up, but dont know if i can do it myself.... i am going to run a 100 wet shot on it until i get the 3L built up.

I would stay away from aftermarket ignitions for the Contour/Cougar. The stock ones are perfectly fine and I haven't heard any good reveiws from people that have installed aftermarket ones. I used to have a Jacobs ignition but sold it shortly after. I never had anything but trouble with it. It was plug and play though. It just pluged right into the coil pack. I think the MSD is different so I'm not sure how to install it. Not may people run more than a 75 shot on the Contour and Cougar boards. I'd be careful.

well... i plan on getting that 3.0 in this year so why not experiment? the MSD also wires i guess you could call it "parallell" to the stock ignition so i can unplug it and put my bypass plug in any time so it shouldnt hurt to put it on, i am getting the MSD for timing retard so i can run the 100 shot, so i guess thats why i got it, for the being careful part..... i'll take pics and post em up when i do the wire-up

Yup the Jacobs system I had was the same way. It basically boosted the stock system. I had starting problems with it after a while. I'm not sure why. Never noticed much of an increase in power.

i hope i dont have problems with the igniton. if i do, i will just put the bypass plug in and sell the box. either way im going to try though, ive already got it hehe
