OK, As the club gets bigger and we learn more and more about eachother, we can easily lose track of what each other does. Based on the ideas that we can all help each other out within the club, we should post what our "skills" are. Perhaps someone here is a good artist and can paint or something and we'd never even know it. Let's use our skills to the club benefits!
My skills:
I can do moderate mechanical things. Not a master or certified mechanic but have a good sense of how things work. Currently working on TOO MANY projects, but find time to relax doing hands-on work.
I am a computer GEEK. I can build, repair, upgrade PC's, etc. This is my full time job so when I come home I enjoy working on cars and motors and such. Is relaxing to me for some reason.
Anyone else?

To get this thread back on track a bit...
I'm a graphic artist. I can't really paint or draw detailed things by hand, but I do a lot of computer print graphics. I can edit photos and design posters, advertisements, stuff like that. I created our window sticker and banner designs.

Kind of a big request. but I'll try.
I do artwork, drawings, pen & ink, photography, PC (Build / upgrade / repair / network / program), Graphic design cert. in CAD and commercial art, I shoot things really really far away, I have a rather high mechanical aptitude, I do work on cars (I'd rather not - but I can), I coordinate projects, marketing...
Short form, Jack of all trades. (honestly) in fact, I just got done doing a hand laid ceramic tile kitchen floor...
p.s. Check my window vinyl next time you see my car. :)

Well as I mentioned in another post - I'm a cinema design engineer.
I have good mechanical skills (repair rebuild movie projectors), electrical and electronic skills (that's what my degree is in - I specialize in audio and digital video as well as the computer stuff that supports all that). I'm pretty good at understanding how complicated systems work and figuring out how to fix/modify them to work better.
Finally, I have some decent engineering and management skills from my work as a senior manager at the company I used to work for. Also am trained as a draftsman (using real paper and stuff like triangles, squares, compasses, lead holders and ancient stuff like that.

I am a student at the University of St. Thomas and was planning on being an actuarial science major, but I am thing of changing my major to mechanical engineering. I like fixing things and really enjoy finding out how things work, but I am not sure what I would like to do for the rest of my life. I think I just need to do a whole lot of job shadowing to see what it is that I really enjoy doing and wouldnt mind doing everyday. I love helping working on cars but I am not confident enough to do things on my own. I want someone who knows a lot about something to tell me what to do. It is cheaper to do work yourself, but it is more expensive to get it fixed after it goes wrong

Who are the Jonnies.....
I'm an Electrical Engineer with a Minor in Physics. I graduated from St. Thomas and I work for Honeywell as a "sensor design process engineer." Just recently received a promotion to level 2 Engineering (not sure what that means).
As far as car knowledge I'm all self taught. I had my 98 SVT contour get totalled after 3 months because of some **** head that couldn't tell red from green. Then I bought a 99 Cougar and shortly after 30k miles the tranny blew up and after Ford couldn't fix it I pulled the engine and tranny out and put an SVT engine in there. Then I wanted more power and replaced the SVT engine with a hybrid (3L block and SVT engine parts on top) right along with a Quaife and upgraded tranny parts. Then I moved onto more SVT Contours and started doing 3L swaps into Contours with blown engines. I've done about 11 3L swaps now and sold a few of them to this club. I'm extremly good with the 2.5/3L Duratec engine and have good knowledge that transfers over to most modular engines.
I'm also fairly good with computers but its diminishing due to my car habits.

I dont know about all you computer geeks but I give you loads of props in my Freshman year at St. Thomas I took a Java programing class and that **** is hard. You have to go so step by step like you are explaining it to a dog, man I have no patience so I couldnt do it. Even though you guys probably dont do a whole lot of programing due to the India trend I still give you props for going through it. Also Daath I built a Client Server network at St. Thomas for a program that I wrote in a Cryptology class(code breaking but used Java to help) and that was the hardest thing I have ever done in my entire life. Well, my story will sound boring after all this. I'm a buyer for a medical device design and manufacturer, so I work with a lot of brainiacs, (like this bunch, which is a compliment!). In my way too short spare time I'm a long distance runner having comleted 13 marathons (26.2 miles). I can coach you through your first race from a 5K to a marathon if you want. I also am a horse owner, have had them since I was a kid, can ride pretty good I think. My Arabian, Cobrizo, taught be balance! I used to show my Arabian but have gotten away from that in the past few years. Now I'm trying to learn about cars, I love to go fast but also want to be safe and in control, I get that from horseback riding I guess. I grew up with 4 brothers so the car thing rubbed off. My oldest brother took delivery of a new '71 Boss 351 that he still owns. Pretty cool. Guess I got off subject......anyway...

It's interesting reading what everybody does outside of their vehicles.
I have been in the computer field for 22 years now. I started out on an IBM mainframe and took care of establishing data connections to outside financial instutions, distributors, and all in-house communications. Now my job is like "Big Brother." I make sure that all is working as it should by monitoring the various compontents of our network, hardware, and software. This includes routers, switches, Unix, Linux and Windows systems, Oracle, SQL, Email, and numerous packaged and in-house applications. If something should break, or is nearing a breakdown, we alert the appropriate support group, and log all the information for history and trending purposes. One of the best things about my job is, I am telling people they have a problem and they have to fix it. I never get calls in the middle of the night (like I use to), when something breaks.
Prior to all this computer junk, I was a full time musician. I play keyboards and love to write music. I have a recording studio in my home, that lately has been getting dusted off more than being used. Anybody remember the Ramones? We warmed 'em up.
I have two girls and a boy, ages 23, 15, and 9.
I also spend many hours taking care of our yard which is my only form of exercise.
I am a huge Timberwolves fan and have been a season ticket holder now for 8 years. Go Wolves!
My wife has her own graphic design business that she started 19 years ago. She knows the field inside and out and can do everything from concept to print.
It will be two years this September since I bought my Cobra, and, well some of you know the rest of the story!
And that's the way the cookie crumbles!

BlackCoupe, I am able to mix IT and music at my firm, as we MFG for the Pro Audio business (ElectroVoice, Midas, Klark Teknic, Dynacord). Everyone it seems has a connection with the music industry. One of my IT guys used to roadie for Black Sabbath and the Stones back in the day. Me, I just listen to the stuff, in my Cobra of course. We have a pretty cool studio at work though, but you'd be a better judge of that than me. ;)
I am a manufacturing process engineer. I've been working with semiconductors for the last 11 years. Not really my area of interest, but it pays the bills. I graduated from Metro State with a BS is Computer Science. Like Dan N., I can do anything -- with --to -- on -- computers. I can develop and write software in many different languages. I really need to find an IS/IT job =).
I am a DIY'er, car repair, home repair/remodel, etc. In my spare time (which isn't much), I like to do off-road mountain biking, Xbox, or watch movies on the home theater system. I am also a sport bike enthusiast, but lately there has been no time for that.

Like most here I am semi mechanically inclined and do some of the lighter work on my own car(dropped IRS, LCA/UCA bushings, halfshafts etc) but dont really have the setup/tools for stuff like engine swaps etc.
I also do misc php/mysql scripting for the web to bring in some mod money. Ive done my share of reshingling roofs, building decks and recently tore the old countertop out of my kitchen and not having the money for solid granit laid down 12x12 granit tiles which turned out nice.

I am the Executive Assistant for the VP of Sales and Marketing for the largest waste manufacturing company in the U.S. I basically babysit approximately 100 sales representatives, 5 President, 5 VPs, 7 General Managers and 1 very picky CEO in 29 manufacturing locations. They all call on me to handle everything from travel needs, client contact, budget tracking, dinner reservations and anything else they ask me to do. I keep track of what they do, where they go and generally try to stay one step ahead of them. When I'm not doing that, I maintain the company website, create the company newsletter and handle all promotional material. I travel 3-4 times per year to set up our company's trade show booths which are approximately 3,000 square feet of waste hauling equipment. This occurs between 7 am and 5 pm. Im a computer IT technician and have D9 as my boss (great job huh :) ). Ive been into computers ever since my dad got our first apple II but really didnt get into computers till we got our first packard bell with win95 on it. Since it always broke i found myself fixing it more then my dad was so it just caught on it me i guess and became my career. Had some cisco training in high school then did a 2yr AA degree at DCTC and right out of collage i get a job with D9. Talk about luck huh?, you dont get many chances like this as an entry level tech.
But besides my computer stuff, i have moderate mechanical abilitys. I can do most of the small stuff with cars but anything major like opening up an engine and stuff like that i tend to stay away from. I guess its the fear of screwing up and losing $$$. So Cars have turned into my hobby and computers as my career.
But other then that thats all that i do. I like lifting weights now and biking around lake nakomis. But only so much experiance you can get with being 22 i guess. Ya i know i could be doing alot more but right now im just taking it easy and getting used to life living on my own and having a career job.

No Peeps or Poops, I thinks something is going on that will either shock the buyers or piss them off! I was supposed to hear from SVT after I called them a month ago. They were supposed to get back with us in late March. That's why I think something is up?

What do you mean? Shock or piss off? Do you mean a delay or recall. or a cancellation. Sounds bad whatever your thinking.
You hit it right on the head! That's my thoughts. Something will happen that will make me think twice about the new Shelby. I have a bad bad feeling that Ford is skeeming, and they need to do some more mystery S*#%$

Yeah it could turn out like the Cougar S. Orders were placed and all the brochures were out. They even had a few production models finished and then they cancelled it. :(
