Et Al.

I'm the "new guy" (at least one of many)

Background:
Had a minor run in with Dan but we've gotten past that :)
I like the idea of getting to know a few other people with a strong desire and passion for driving.

Dan tells me that this is a good group and that you guys have a lot of fun, do a lot of events, and are generally good people overall.

It sounds like the kind of group that I'm looking to get into, I understand that I will have to reg with Nat'l SVTOA first and then reg with SVTOA-TC.

I expect this to happen within the next week here.

Other things; I drive an 03 Cobra Convertable. had my my first accident in 22 years of driving. Pretty well took out the front valance, headlights, and crushed the front portion of my hood....also bent my "Cobra bracket".

I expect that this should make its way in to a shop in the next week to be patched up and painted. I'd like to see it back together before your next meeting as I'd like to be in attendance to get a little more information as well as a better feeling of the group.

Here ends the reading. :)

Welcome Steven! Bummer about the accident! I'd be fumin'! At least you're ok. What color is your vert?

I'm fairly new to this group but wow, what a nice bunch of people! They've welcomed me very warmly and made me feel right at home. Super bunch, you won't be disappointed! :bounce:

Welcome Shooter! I wouldn't call it a "run in". Perhaps a "misunderstanding". Anyhow, good to see you are here.

Did you check out the pictures from the MAM event?

Also, see the thread about signing up for Gingerman in September.

Welcome again!

Pam,

I need to correct my above post. Dan and I didn't have a "run in" :) I think he is far better with tact than I am. Which is not to say that we don't both have exquisite command of language....

Anyhow, back to you:
Its Black w/Tan top - Black int. w/Tan inserts (feels really nice).

One of the things that I have noticed re: Mustangs is that people that buy Black ones always seem to want the Black top as well... So I was hoping to be a littel bit different. Not sure it worked out so well though :)

Thanks for the welcome message too.

Welcome Steven, We have alot of cool things planned for the future. The National and Local dues do add up but we get some great discounts that will more than make up for the cost of dues.

Besides SVT Enthusist makes good reading material to keep next to the crapper

Thats kind of a funny thing about Mystichrome owners... everyone knows of you and you don't get to know of all of them <LOL>

I hope my insurance adjuster girl calls me soon so I can get my car in to the chop sooner is better than later.

Shooter, everytime I read your signature saying it reminds me of the other one, "shoot low, they're riding Shetlands"

I like it - I like it... :)

*Update (not that anyone cares) My insurance adjuster girl (person) just called me lke 2 minutes ago. The other guys insurance person (Linda, also a girl) said she'd send me a check for my deductable so that I can get the "ball rolling" on the repairs. Then my insurance will pay for the rest and then get reimbursed from the other guys insurance company.

Cool, so I can now make a call and get my repairs scheduled and pick up a loaner (economy) car.

My baby will be all better by the middle of next week. (Yea! Go me.)

p.s. "I like it - I like it" was ref: The Shetlands <heh>

Hey Cobrizo, since you brought up what "Shooter" remids you of, everytime I think about it all I can picture is Shooter McGavin from "Happy Gilmore". (No offense intended Shooter). Great movie if you haven't seen it.

Welcome to the club Shooter! Sorry to hear about your accident. So what kind of driving do you like best? Drags or a little corner carving?

Three sides to every coin....

I have done street racing, I have been on the strip. I've done my own "make shift" auto-X, I've trained MP's and Troopers defensive driving, I like to do "my own stunts".

So I don't know where this fits into the carving of corners, I have been known to put my car into some rather weird orientations where other drivers would probably freak out.... or at least lose control for more than a few seconds.

I think that my passion for driving has something to do with Mass and an excellerated frames. not necessarily azimuth.... :)

Ok, so I think most of you know I'm a little chicken....I think theres some things to learn from Shooter, at least for me!

You guys (and girl) crack me up... You're a hoot. (A good thing) :)

Cobrizo,
I'm sure there are a ton of things that I can learn from you as well. In fact, I look forward to it.

Kafn8td (Checks spelling) You must be on "crack" if you want to ride with me when I get all "hardcore".

I do keep in mind that I am always learning so if I should happen to ask you a bunch of what seem to be "normal" questions, I may just be trying to figure out who teaches me the best.

I do understand that I have not been in any "formal" auto-X as of yet. So I will most certainly be a newbie in that respect.

*I want to ride with Dan N* :) Now THAT would be hardcore

I don't Rice. That's someone else on the board.
Now racing? I'm nowhere NEAR hardcore. Check with Cobra-R. He's the hardcore racer type dude. :)

Typographical error on my part (Corrected)

Don't try to escape... :) I'd still like one day to take a "ride along" around the course with you... To me, that would be "hardcore". So there. :P

Ride along the course... Hmm. You'll have to sign up yourself for the September run. I'm by no means an expert.

Cobra R gives better rides than I do.

Retics4me knows. He likes ALL Cobra-R's "rides". :P

I'll do my best to have all reg fees in place come Friday. Kind of makes it more "official" that way...
