These two things are on my parents christmas list if any of you know any insight on these two things would you mind sharing it with me. Like which tablet PC or portable DVD player you have had success with. I want a relatively cheap dvd player but will not skimp on the PC
Thanks

heh, well i have experiance with these with my work and all :)
Personally, i would get one of the toshiba's. They have a ton of features and also have a huge screen. Looking for somethin smaller, get the fujitsu t4020. Cant remember the model# for the toshiba but those both are the two to pick from.
as for dvd player, not sure.

Now do they want a full real tablet PC or are they talking about a PDA? Tablet PC's are gonna run you some bucks like $1500+

hmm, ya do you want a true tablet pc in which its just a tablet. Or do you want a convertable one, which is a tablet and a laptop?

Yes I realize they are expencive but my mother writes ALL of her stuff out by hand prior to actually typing it because she types so slow. So I want to get her something that she can convert all of her writing into typing.

My friend just bought a new dell laptop, 9300 series I think it is with a 17" LCD screen and comes with windows media edition, tv tuner device, remote control, etc
I dont know you or your parents, but that in my opinion would be the best way to give them the best of both.

When it comes to windows hand reconginition, its some of the best. but in my opinion it still lacks and for someone not techno savvy its full of fustration, I belive there is no replacement for good ole QWERTY, unless she is willing to learn dvorak =)

Yes, i would definatly go with the tecra M4, we tested them out at my work and they worked great, but did poorly in the sun which was an issue here. But go for the M4 if you want something nice.
