View Full Version : Boost Gauge Accuracy???

Well, I couldn't resist, and did some "experimenting" with the L last night.
How accurate are the boost gauges on these things?
With foot to the floor, the boost gauge pegged over 10psi.
I thought the eaton with stock pulleys was only rated to 8-8.5 psi???
Now if the gauge is accurate, that means there may be an aftermarket pulley on the truck already. What are the stock pulley measurements for the snout pulley and the crank pulley?
Not a problem if there is (saves me money later) but I'd like to know.

Do you have any mods to it? There COULD be an aftermarket pulley on the lower.
Dunno on stock sizes, but my 6lb lower is a 9" pulley.

isn't the stock upper a 2.93?

As far as I know (and according to Mike W), it is bone stock.
There is however a JLT kit on its way already. The results you got with it on the old Mystic were pretty nice. Gotta get it on the Dyno pre-mods though so I know what I am working from.

I think Dan is working on setting up a Dyno Day here very shortly also so that is a perfect time for this.

Cold air and temps I always see more boost.

A dyno day would be cool. One last hurrah before putting things away for the winter.

Would love to hit the strip, but have to go pick up my kids in Eveleth that weekend. (They are going to hang out with Gramma and Grampa for 5 days).
By the way, for all those looking for the answer to Stock Pulley sizes.
The crank stock is 7.5"
The snout stock is 3.0" (So... the 2.95 someone mentioned is prolly correct)
Now I just gotta get under the hood and measure what's on this beastie.
