What a fun time! Plenty of racing and sun. The day was not so bad for racing. I ended up getting my best time in semi/street configuration. I was hoping for a 13.25, but I got a 12.97, and I made almost 108 mph a few times. in a fair amount of heat and humidity. Too bad the turnout was so poor. This is what the club is about. Not sitting in a meeting room. But people turn out well for that. But it is a busy time and another track date in the late summer/fall will have cooler weather and hopefully a better turnout.
Congratz to Pam for her first time at the track. She trimmed a half second off her first run, and ran well into the 13's. Faster than a red 04 cobra, I seen at the track 1 time last year. with bullet wheels. Anyway It was a blast, hope to see more of you next time.

I would have went but I had no idea it was going on, I missed the last meeting and was not watching the events close enough. I was pissed yesterday at lunch when I logged on and saw you guys already were down there!

The day at the drag strip was a blast! It was hot, but you can't do this stuff in the winter! Many thanks to Shawn for his great instruction, I did get faster! Now I just have to figure out how to get movin' off the line, I think I sat about a half hour spinnin' while my competition (my nephew) was screamin' down the track!

I would like to thank our club members who braved the heat to go to Cedar Falls! I am so glad I went, this is what these "high performance" cars are supposed to do! And thanks to my fellow racers for letting Nate Heim race with us. He's my nephew who drove over from LaCrosse with his new Lightning to have some fun with us.

Thanks for the great time at the track hangin' out with good friends! BTW, watch out for one fast silver '03 Cobra!

I also wanted to say thanks to Shawn again for leading our pack Ponies, Snakes and Lightnings to the track and back. You did a great job and everyone kept together in spite of some of the hazards and "debris" on the road. :)

I think I hit every bug in Iowa. But I cleaned em off as soon as I got home. Worth it to have fun.

Yes it was a great time yesterday. Had my best time on one of the hottest days of the year. I can imagine if it was a cooler day i could prolly get a 13.3 or 13.2 with some tires and temps in the 60's. But i have to agree with grenade, we need to get the showing of people to drag events like we do with the meetings. Honestly what is more fun, sitting in a meeting talking about events or actually doing them? But i can understand people have other prioritys other then to drive 200 miles to a drag strip and 200 miles back. Next time i think im gonna get a hotel next time, that drive home sucked.

Great event, cant wait for the next.

Thanks to Dan N. for all of his support and help down at the track. It was a little easier to "get in it" knowing Dan had a tow rope! Thanks to Jeff for keeping us all safe. A good time was had by all.

Yeah, ditto for me too, there's no bigger supporter of this club than Dan N., thanks for all your help and encouragement yesterday! You are always so enthusiastic and that really helps me with my rookie jitters! Thanks buddy! And Jeff did a great job, we all got there and back with no accidents or mishaps! It was a great day all the way! :rockit:
