alright have a stupid queston for you drag nuts. Want to know if i should take the mystic down and run it, now normally this wouldn't matter but even if i drive it down it will still only have 700 miles on the clicker. What is a guy to do in this case I am not sure, what do you folks consider a safe period to beat on the car? Give me a number or something that I can work with. thanks

With my Z06 I pulled into the track at Casey and Carly's wedding with 247 miles, and left the track with 250 miles on it.

Dan besides the fact that you trade them in before they even need their 1st oil change, here is my 2 cents worth.

Break ins really are a thing of the past, todays motors are made of much better metals and to tighter tolerances than our grandfathers vehicles. Rings almost immediatley seat, rod and main bearings do the same. In the past piston rings were made of a hard metal, todays rings and bearings are made of many metals. I have disassembled several Modular Motors that have had the living snot beat out of them and Ive disassembled a few with way over 75,000 miles. In all cases the bearings, rod and main journals looked perfect, even in the high mile engines you were able to see the factory cross hatches on the cylinder walls. This is the reason most our cars just need to fill up and go, we no longer have to add a quart of oil every 1000 miles(Unless its a Chebby of course) I think you should enjoy the car and do what makes you confortable. I know how protective you are of the car and the only suggestion I have is you pick up a can of PAM (The Cooking ****) Spray the PAM all over the rear 1/4 panels behind the tires, this will prevent the track compound and rubber from sticking to your car. After you leave the track stop by a Self Serve car wash and spray the junk off with high pressure. Then you set and ready for the car show again, CYA There !!!!
