That is Fred, AKA Flying Fred and he gives the exact detail on what went wrong and what he thinks caused it. For those who went to MAM, He is the guy who was pitted next to Bruce and was racing in the Competetion race Sat and Sun.

As John said, we know fred very well. I switched cars one session with Fred at Road America a few weeks ago (With doug as a co-pilot). It's a fun car to drive. It's to bad it happend, but unfortunately it's a risk we take putting these cars on the track.

Brian

BTW: Fred is from Eau Claire, wi. He is coming down for dinner next weekend, so I will find out more on what his plans are for the car.

You can safely assume the following (I rode in this car at RA):

wheels are changed 3-4x at every event.
front spoiler removed (all R owners that track their cars remove them, seems it won't stay on otherwise hehehe)
suspensions is let's say, not stock;)
brakes are also, not stock
full roll cage added
5pt harnesses added
thats all I can think of right now (there's lots more).

To put it mildly, at MAM during the fun race Fred driving this car was ahead of the panoz spec racer till he put 2 wheels off in the carousel.

You darn Vette owner :50cal: , actually they are stock brakes for the 00R. ;)

Dan,
The stock splitter will vibrate above 130 mph or so, so most people remove the splitter for the track. There are some guys that are getting splitters made out of Carbon Fiber, those seem to be holding up a little better.

Brian

PS: I have 6 sets of wheels for track tires alone, so very seldom are there stock wheels on my car as well.
