I talked to Dan and it looks like April 23 is a good date for a LAN party. I asked Dan if his work would be a good place and he agreed. As far as a time I'll suggest 6:30pm because it takes a while to get things setup and connected. The last few times we've played around on the computer we were playing Age of Mythology which is a spin off of Age of Empires. It's similar to Warcraft/Starcraft. You don't need to be any good at the game to play because Dan sucks and you'll beat him anyway. I know some are into first person shooter games, personally I'm not because I suck at them, but if there is enough people we can have different games going at the same time. I wouldn't mind hooking up playstations for a GT4 tournament either but I'm not sure how we would go about doing that at Dan's work needing TV's for each one and all. We can talk about it in this thread. Who would be interested? The girls can all come and watch a sappy movie on Dan's big projection screen if you're not into gaming or have a pillow fight :).

I'll probably make it. I have the no CD crack for AoM so we can load on other computers. Patch level has to be exactly the same for it to work though.

Warez anyone. Maybe I will bring my friends water cooled mother. 1Terabyte of hard drive and a gig of ram, and the 3rd best video card on the market. He has it overclocked to 3.8Gigahertz it is an amazing machine. BTW he is my roomie next year. anyway its the only computer that I have seen that can run Doom 3 FULL settings and not EVER lag
Brian
P.S. I get 9 hours of battery life on my computer, and no gaming level at all

I'd be careful about advertising game copying on this board.

:stupid:

I for one am against pirating games, movies, and CD's. People work hard to make that stuff so they should get money in return for it.

Hmm, I thought this was a car club. Personally, I'd much rather take F8L out for a cruise while the boys play their games...

Hmm is F8L the car's name or the cat in your avatar? I figured it was the car and all the girls seemed to like the idea which is why I said the women can all drive their cars while we play games then.

You are correct, it is the car since the plate reads F8LBITE...

As for the cat, his name is BJ. Or as Sshfty and Shan call it, Butterball!! :roll2:

I'm not sure how good I'll be in some of these games, but I can hold my own in Age of Mythology and Age of Empires, though I'd be rusty....

Lets make sure we have the females listed as well.

Girls, what do we want to do? Watch movies? Go to a restaurant? I"m not sure what everyone wants to do, so I thought I would throw it out there.

Oh and if your coming post what your bringing because I know a few people wanted to bring a PS2 or XBox.

I'll have my Computer and I'll bring: Age of Mythology, NFSU2, Star Craft with expansion, and Warcraft III.

I do have a PS2 with GT4, NFSU2, Xmen Legends, and Burnout 3 Takedown. It is a new PS2 so it is network cabable without needed a network adapter. If you want to bring the older PS2 you might be able to pick up a used ethernet adapter from Gamestop for $20. New they are $40 which is a complete rip off when the new ones come with them. You'll need one if you want to hook up and play.

Dan will we need to find TV's if people want to play PS2 or XBox?

I've got a PS2, with GT3, Test Drive Eve of Destruction, NASCAR '05 Chase for the Cup, Total Immersion Racing, NFS (I don't remember which version it is, other than the one before the most current one), Burnout, Ferrari 355 Challenge, and maybe a few others I'm forgetting.

I'm up for anything. The restaurant idea sounds good, but is there anywhere we will get in on a Saturday night?

are we going to play any shooters like unreal or quake or like call of duty?

Cause really i dont like rpg's, just seem really boring to me. Now if people want to bring there xbox's and play halo2 im down for that. But otherwise i might bail on this one. I have something i was going to do with my brother this saturday night, i was thinking i might replan it but make me an undecided now for the lan party.

If you guys plan on playing shooters ill still think of going. Halo2 and im there.

The party is what you make it. I enjoy real time strategies AND FPS's, but I haven't played an FPS for a LONG LONG time..

I can set up 2 differnet hubs/switches to get another network of one game system on one LAN and another on another...

So what is the scoop for tomorrow now? I'm not bringing my puter to the dyno so I will have to go home and drop off the car and pick up the puter.

ah ****, now i remember why i dont play games on my computer much now. Went to go play halo PC and well i remember now that my video card is a dinosaur. Original radeon card, yup if im going ill just be bringing my xbox, no use watching a studdering screen all night.

I can play older games like quakeIII and quakeII just fine on it, but anything newer like call of duty and such is slow.

It's just as well that it didn't happen tonight. I bought GT4 yesterday, and now I have more time to practice :shiftin: . Maybe I'll even get the Saleen S7 unlocked by then. :burnout:

Well we had a blast even with the small crowd. We had it at my house because we didn't need a ton of room and it was more comfortable.
