After the success of last year’s show, we hope you will consider adding the Second Annual Mods and Rods Charity Car Show to your show schedule this year. The Second Annual Mods and Rods Charity Car Show will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2004 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Ellingson Car Museum in Rogers, Minnesota (where it was held last year).

We are proud to announce three major sponsors of our show: The Land O' Lakes Region SCCA, AutoZone (a major auto parts retailer) and Elite Autosport. With their support we will be able to bring you an even better show this year!

Registration for Mods and Rods II is now open HERE (http://www.modsandrods.com/content2.php?categoryid=3)

Pre-registration is $15, which gets you, your car, and a friend into the show. Car clubs that register 5 or more spots together will pay a registration fee of $10.

We will be giving out over 30 trophies at this year’s show, including a new class for racing vehicles. We also expect to have thousands of dollars in door prizes including car detailing, car products, and dyno pulls.

If you do not live in the Twin Cities area and will need a hotel room, we have arranged for you to get a discounted rate at two hotels in the Rogers area: The Hilton Garden Inn in Maple Grove and the Travelodge in Maple Grove. You can get rate and contact information for these hotels HERE (http://www.modsandrods.com/content.php?categoryid=7 ). Please book your hotel rooms before July 7th to ensure that you will get the discounted rate.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or you can respond to this post.

Hope to see you on August 7th!

Actually Dan and I don't count because we are both part of the team putting the show together. We get to put our cars in the show for free but we don't get to compete.

Haha this is 1 event that Dan C will get more votes than Dan N, Im gonna miss the competition between the 2 of them. Well I guess there is always Gingerman, equal cars, equal drivers and nobody has the home court advantage.

if i didnt have to work, you would see me more, but here is my problem,

say we had a meeting this weekend, i would not now if i had to work until YESTERDAY at 3PM when i got to work, and I would then not be able to post if I had to work untill about 1130 PM when i got home. So basically you all would not know if I was going to be there untill Today when you check the boards.

Its really hard not being able to plan my weekends untill thursday but thats what i have to do.

I drove right past this place yesterday.... weird.

Was in one of those "Do nothing" kind of moods and just pointed the car in one direction and followed the road... Nearly drove right off the end of my map.... (Good thing my brakes work).

Came back down 10/169 through Ramsey and into Anoka. Pretty fun sometimes to just get out on the road and take a cruise...

Call me weird,

-Steven

There is a contest for best team display. This does NOT necessarily mean the most attendees. This is the for best team DISPLAY award. What can we think of that would help us be a viable contender for this?

We already have a tent (provided it's use is OK'd by the BOSS - Kafn8td??) and a 6ft banner and our color coded stickers and National SVTOA T-shirts.

Any other ideas for us? I'm looking to make a presence known here in the Twin Cities for car enthusiasts to let them know that SVTOATC is a growing community. This show is unique in the fact that ALL makes/models are welcome and encouraged to come and learn about eachother.

Open for suggestions while we have time. Again, the show is August 7th, 2004 at Ellingson Car Museum in Rogers, MN.

Well we could stack our cars up in a "pyramid"...Nah, they'd think we are making fun of "prisoners" better not do that one.

Ummm... I'm thinking parking semi circular oldest to newset and/or by type.

For example: the older body style to newer style. Then by color spectrum. So lighter color cars to one end and black at the other end.

Or: we can just semi circle the cars by type. Coupes style convertables. Just to show the range that the SVTs cover.

Theres an SVT out there for everyone's personal style... :)

again, just a presentation idea.

This is a great idea, but parking is tight at this show. We have to be straight but the color spectrum idea is good too!

Maybe a "standardized" sign for each car? Year, color, VIN, etc.?

John's idea of tattoo's is excellent too!

I like the parking by color idea as well, and if we all wear the SVTOA t-shirt that would look pretty good. Dan's idea of a standardized sign for each car is a good one. Could DR possibly work up a couple ideas?? Just a thought....

I could probably figure out something. I can talk to our vinyl guy. He makes signs like that too. I can work on a design and some pricing info and have it all by the next meeting.

Great Idea!

Well, I checked with our vinyl guy and he makes signs that are similar, but not something that I was really looking for. He has been interested in making these and has been looking for his info that he had on suppliers. it looks like we probably won't be able to get these together in time for the show on Aug. 7th. Mainly because I know he doesn't have anything yet and if he did, we'd still have to agree on a design and get all the info from people for what they would want on it (mods list). Then, there is the time needed to make them.

Sorry that this idea didn't work out at this time. I'll keep checking into it though to see if its possible to start working on them for next car show season.
