I love the snow! Its fun to watch my horses go plowing through it when I let them out of the barn after a big snowfall, especially my Norwegian Fjord, he's made for this stuff!

Ponies rule!!
Cobrizo I can't believe you have a fjord! They are the shiz!! I've ridden since I was about 7, got into riding hunter/jumper and have been riding dressage for the past 5 years or so. What level did you ride at? I got into first level stuff with a 17 hand thoroughbred this summer but I recently went down to Texas to a training barn and learned how to do 3rd and 4th level stuff on their grand prix schoolmaster warmbloods!! It was AWESOME! I'm going back down for spring break to learn more and practice my newly aquired skills of half-pass, flying changes, and (gasp!) PIAFFE! I'm so pumped!
Oh, ah...thoughts on snow? Hate it. I hate the cold and snow....so why am I maybe moving to the cities?? Well there's more dressage trainers up there than here, and theres a better school. yay!

Erik, my Fjord is a hoot, a large draft horse in a small body! Long hair and very large bone structure and so mild mannered. One if my friends said while riding him, its like having your own personal thigh-master! :) My Arabian was doing 1st level Dressage with my trainer starting 2nd level, he was doing flying changes and shoulder and haunches in. But that was a few years ago, I haven't shown him for awhile. My trainer got divorced and had to go back to school for a real job, and I didn't want to send him out for training. So now he's my trail horse. Dressage should be the basis for ALL training, even trail riding, so he's a great horse to ride. Very light on the aids and fun to ride. He's got a lot of snort so he's not a beginners horse, thats what makes him fun!

I love the snow, especially while it's snowing! It's so beautiful and peaceful. BUT, that's only if I don't have to go out in it! Then it becomes a whole different ballgame. I hate driving in the snow. The beetle just takes a pounding if the roads haven't been plowed. Then I'm just terrified. I get very angry and cry very easily. I know I sound like such a wimp, but I'm being honest.

Pam, If you ever want company when you are caring for your horses, let me know. I love horses and would love to learn about them and how to care for them, so someday I can get one of my own. But I want to learn first.

As for the snow...it's time to snowmobile!!

Shandiea, that would be awesome! When it gets warmer you can stop by. Its interesting to watch the farrier at work I think, and he's a great guy. He's also a certified acupuncturist by trade. Anyway, I'll take you up on that!
